ABOUT HEAR THE CITY
Hear The City Showcase and Conference is the biggest event of its kind in Poland in terms of its content programme (over 30 discussion panels, workshops, lectures), while having the most intimate character possible (up to 200 conference and 300 festival participants). It is addressed to the young music industry - musicians, managers, events and festivals organisers, record label employees, music journalists.
Since 2014, we have been meeting in order to talk, learn from renowned specialists and meet new people. So far we have hosted more than 150 specialists from 27 countries as speakers.
During the showcase part we present comer bands from Krakow and the cities of the Hear The City Incubator programme (so far: Gdańsk, Gdynia, Katowice, Łódź, Toruń, Rzeszów, Lublin, Wrocław Poznań). We have hosted, among others, Hańba!, Patrick the Pan, Disperse, Cheap Tobacco, Kraków Street Band, Besides and many other artists, successfully building their careers on Polish and international stages.

THE 2021 THEME: PEOPLE!
In a digitalized world, it is worth asking ourselves: what comes first? Idea, composition, production, image, need, promotion, streaming, social media? We want to remind you that the first comes a human being. Man works with music and man receives it. People meet in the art world - professional and private - with specific (or not) goals, needs and experiences.
Panels, workshops and lectures of experts from the wide world of music will touch upon the sense of creation, the value of cooperation and the essence of creating a bond with the audience. Specialists in music, culture, business, psychology and even futurology will reflect together on whether the music industry acts #poludzku (humanly), whether it is transparent and fair. What can be done to make it so? What can male and female artists ask of themselves? What future is best for them? How to take care of it?
#poludzku (humanly) about management, communication and online presence. Consciously about development of audience, image and industry responsibility.
#poludzku (humanly) within Hear the City Showcase and Conference: People! 13 & 14 November 2021 in Krakow at the Proxima Theatre and online

OPENING PANEL: BLACK MIRROR
What is the future of music? Is music still an art or already a product? What would music be without human beings? And is the future of music... people? Without fortune telling, we look into the future.
Panel in English

LET'S PLAY.
Business and music, can you find even more different worlds? It turns out that although business has its own laws, which art does not tolerate (commercialism), there are so many similarities that it is worth taking a look at them and see how the world in which music plays a huge role is changing. During this meeting we will hear how the approach in the business has changed - from "symphony to jazz". We will analyse how bands from The Beatles, Metallica to Marillion operate - that is, we will answer the question - how to adapt to this increasingly complex and changing world.
