PROJECT DESCRIPTION
“Growth of Innovation, Development and Digitalization in Music Business Professionals’ education” is a project implemented under the European Erasmus+ program. Its leader is Związek Zawodowy Muzyków RP (the Trade Union of Musicians), and its partners are the Polish networking and educational initiative Tak Brzmi Miasto and the Estonian school of music and ballet MUBA.
The need behind initiating the activity was the desire to create universally accessible, modern and up-to-date framework, format and educational content providing business foundations necessary in the market activities of future and current music industry professionals.
Project activities are addressed, on the one hand, towards companies, institutions and organizations interested in education and training of professionals. Using the project results, they can improve their existing or start new educational activities that meet the latest market requirements. On the other hand – which remains the main motivation of the organizers and partners – the recipients are also the professionals themselves (future and current) who will directly benefit from the activities of the organizer and partners.
The project includes a number of activities at different layers that together are responsible for the growth of innovation, development and digitalization:
1. THINK-TANK
The overarching activity is the Think-tank. This is a project group composed of music industry specialists - long-time practitioners from various fields (pop music, jazz/world music, classical music, education), who are both representatives of the organizer and partners, as well as invited guests.
The aim of the think-tank is to discuss and, as a result, prepare the content of educational activities for subsequent stages of the project. The starting points for the discussion are the analysis of educational needs and those related to the social aspect (establishing contacts, cooperation in a group).
Based on these needs, the think-tank is also responsible for constructing a substantive program of experimental educational activities.
2. EDUCATION PROGRAM
The second point of the project is the implementation of the education program developed by the Think-tank.
It is meant for 30 participants - 15 from Poland, 15 from Estonia. It will be run by curators - specialists in the music industry selected by the Think-tank.
The educational program includes 8 lecture meetings with curators and 8 community meetings - group workshops complementing the lecture part. Additionally, participants will be able to take part in individual consultations with two curators.
The program is experimental, i.e. the conclusions drawn from it will be used to improve it (also during the program). It is also an opportunity to discuss, exchange information and supplement content, especially in areas related to new technologies and AI, where structured knowledge is not yet available.
The educational program will last from October 2023 to January 2024.

3. TOOLBOXES
The next stage, is so-called "toolboxes" - these are digital packages containing materials on basic issues that appear in the education program. They consist of a video file + additional materials in the form of files, links, examples, etc.
The project will provide four such packages, available to participants of the education program.
4. HANDBOOK AND PRESENTATION
Handbook is a kind of manual that will be created on the basis of work on the project. It will contain a report on the implementation of the project, a description of the reasons, needs and motivation of the organizer and partners, conclusions, comments and notes resulting from the work of the Think-tank and the result of observing the activities from points 2 and 3.
The assumption is that the textbook created in this way will serve as an "instruction" for implementing similar educational projects or as material for future expansion.
The handbook will be presented at music conferences in 2024 and will be available for free download for those interested.
